Greetings fellow readers! Just like my last Week In Pictures post, this piece will not be as word-intensive as most of our other blogs. While it may be true that a picture can say a thousand words, I’ve added a little caption to each of image to provide some more context. The pictures span from Monday February 10th to Friday February 14th. Enjoy!
Monday – After a tiring first day, a couple of friends and I decide to explore downtown Toronto. We stumble upon some animal statues in a snowy Commerce Court, and I can’t help but yell into an elephant’s ear.
Tuesday – On my way to school in the morning, I quickly capture a shot of this glass-pane tunnel. The passage connects adjacent GO Transit train platforms at Pickering GO Station. Below me I can see hundreds of cars whiz by on Highway 401!
Wednesday – It’s time to play some dodgeball! Our intramural dodgeball team, humbly named Breaking Ball (I’m looking at you Walter White), scores two solid wins against some tough competition. The games took place at the Upper Gym in Kerr Hall.
Thursday – In a BME406 Biomechanics lab, a machine tests a bone sample for its hardness. A bovine rib sample was chosen as the specimen. Both the lateral and longitudinal sides of the sample were tested at consecutive points 5 mm apart. I thought the experiment was very cool!
Friday – It’s the day before reading week, and there is no better way to celebrate the occasion than by playing some baseball! A couple of friends and I head over to Playdium near Square One to hit the batting cages. Air hockey, old-school arcade machines, and pizza soon constitute a memorable night. Work hard, play hard!
