Toronto Winter Break Bucket-list

Fall semester is over, and we now have about three weeks off to rest our brains. Although winter break is a great time to leave Toronto and see some friends or family, there’s also lots of great options in the city. Fear boredom no more and tackle this bucket-list during your winter break!

1. Attend a DJ Skate Night

The Harbourfront Centre brings in DJs most Saturdays from December 15th to February 16th. This outdoor party runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Natrel Rink. Utilize the next Saturday that has good weather by checking out this event!

2. Experience Boxing Day at the Eaton Centre

This may not be for everyone as it can quite literally be madness at the Eaton Centre on Boxing Day (December 26th). However, if you think you can deal with the large crowds and long lines, it’s an interesting experience to try at least once. Boxing Day has loads of deals on everything from clothing to electronics. If you missed Black Friday, here’s your chance for a do-over!

3. See a Magic Show

Champions of Magic, the UK’s largest touring magic show including 5 of its best magicians are in Toronto for the holidays! The show includes an escape from Houdini’s water torture (I’m already sold), illusions with supercars, levitation and more.  The show’s in town December 19th to January 6th.

4. Watch a concert in Toronto

If you’ve been meaning to see a concert but have not had the chance due to constant deadlines, winter break is the perfect opportunity. Concerts are always happening in Toronto, even during the break!

5. Spend The Weekend Away From The City

Although there are always things happening in Toronto, sometimes it’s good to take some time away here and there. Luckily, if you’re looking for a fun trip on a budget, Toronto is located a short bus drive away from some other really cool cities. Check out Montreal, Niagara Falls or even New York City. All of these cities can be travelled to in a day and have a large variety of fun events during the holiday season including ice skating, sight-seeing, and some pretty great restaurants and malls.

Have a great holiday break everyone!
