So Summer is right around the corner (this 15 degree weather, am I right?!), and that means it’s time to start thinking about summer jobs. This can be the most stressful thing for students but here are some tricks and tips to landing the ultimate summer job:
1. Find one that interests you
This is a job that you may be sticking with for four months, so make sure you like the position! Read about the position, the company and ask tons of questions in the interview! The last thing you want to find out is that you don’t like the position halfway through the summer.
2. Pick a position relating to your career goals.
If you can find an internship or position in your desired work field, take it! This will not only help you now, but also down the road! You’ll make connections and learn skills that will directly benefit you (while getting paid)!
3. Flexibility is key
Most jobs may be 9-5, but the traditional 9-5 workday is going by the wayside. If you plan on travelling or working multiple jobs make sure that your position is flexible.
4. Be professional, and have fun.
The one way to impress your employer is to be professional! (psst, if you want tips on how to grow professionally as a student, click here!). Ensure you have a positive, and professional attitude in the workplace, you never know where your summer job may go!!
