Patio season: near campus edition

The pandemic has really taught us to appreciate the outdoors, and now that outdoor dining is allowed, patio season has kicked off! There are so many great spots around Ryerson, so next time you decide to visit our beautiful campus, take advantage of the nearby patios.

Young Street Warehouse

This place is near and dear to my heart. I went here on my 19th birthday and got the absolute best-fried avocado tacos. It’s a very laid-back vibe, and the prices are student-friendly.

Distance From Ryerson: a one-minute walk!

The Porch

In the summer, this patio is so lively at night. As is the food. I’ve heard so many good things about the appetizers, specifically the roasted cauliflower. Along with great food, you need to have great views, and the rooftop patio makes this possible. I don’t know about you, but this place has been trending on my socials, so I’m definitely going to stop by!

Address: 250 Adelaide St W, Toronto, ON M5H 1X6

Distance from Ryerson: about 15 minutes on the subway!

Score on King

The staff here are always so nice and accommodating. This place is great to snap a picture for the gram because of the artwork behind the seating. The prices are also student-friendly! I’ve been here many times for breakfast, and all I can say is that their tater tots are a must-try.

Address: 107 King St E, Toronto, ON M5C 1G6

Distance from Ryerson: a 15-minute walk OR 10 minutes with the subway!

Imperial Pub

The Imperial Pub is cool because they have a rooftop patio with amazing views. I’ve also heard great things about their chicken wings. Something really cool about this place is that it first opened in 1944, which means it has a lot of character. It has a laid-back relaxed atmosphere, and comfort food that won’t disappoint!

Address: 54 Dundas St E, Toronto, ON M5B 1C7

Distance from Ryerson: a three-minute walk!

These are just a few places close to campus that I think you would enjoy. Toronto is filled with great spots to eat outdoors, and has endless cuisines available to you just a short subway ride away.

That’s all for this blog folks.

“See” you soon!
