WHOA. It feels like the semester just started yesterday.
I remember feeling the same way around this time in first year – it’s as if life was literally flying by. Fall semester always feels way too long, and winter goes by way too fast. In order to keep up with the fast pace, I’ve already had to start planning for my third year! I’ve sort of coined the phrase “moving up, on and out”, taken from my Residence Life training, to describe this process. It’s exactly what I’m doing!
As second year flies by, I’d definitely consider myself to be moving up the Ryerson food-chain. Things are starting to make a lot more sense in terms of my program and minor. I’ve found new ways to work my timetable out to fit my needs, and I’ve managed to plan out my course intentions for year 3 and 4. And… dare I say it… I think I’m starting to figure out what I want to do with my degree… (LIFE?!!). I’ve also got a few new jobs this year and am slowly but surely finding my place to best succeed within those positions!
This one refers to the transitional phase I would say that I’m currently in. Things are wrapping up for me over in residence, and I’m working my way out the door and into an apartment off campus! So far, my whole Ryerson experience had been from the perspective of someone who spends almost everyday right on campus. Even though I have absolutely loved it, I think it’s about time for me to experience new things. I also have quite a few trips planned over the next few months. I highly recommend traveling whenever and wherever you can while studying!
This one is new for me.. and I’m SO excited. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve moved out of my family home a few times now. Packing my bags full of all of my cherished belongings is nothing new for me. However, beginning in April, I will finally have a place in Toronto that I can really call home! I’m so excited for this next phase in my life, and I’ve already kind of began prepping…
Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m the sale MASTER. Thrift shoppin’ and finding those crazy deals at Metro is becoming quite the thing hobby of mine. Those two for $22 candle deals at Bath and Body Works are BAE. Anything to keep those bills low as I start having more to pay!
