Hi everyone! I’m going to use this first post to talk a little bit about who I am and what kind of things you can expect me to blog about this year. Hopefully you’ll like what you read and I can help provide a glimpse into Ryerson life, and what makes this University so special!
First, I’m Tessa, and I just started my first year at Ryerson University in the brand new Creative Industries program. For those of you who do not what that is, it’s a program combining the business aspect of working in the creative field as well as learning all about the specific industries themselves. I plan to specialize in Storytelling in Media and the Art and Business of Film modules in hopes to one day work in the television or film industry. So far, I’m loving everything! My classes are truly interesting thanks to my professors being really cool and engaging. Since being at Ryerson for only a month, a lot of great things have happened to me around campus that I can’t even believe. There was frosh week, TIFF, celebrity stalking, meeting nice people in residence, and tons of free food on Gould Street. Amazing!
But what’s most important to me this year (in addition to school work of course) is getting involved in the Ryerson community and finding great opportunities to experience new things. Participating in intramurals, clubs, events, or campus jobs can make the difference between an average or an incredible year. At least that’s what I’m anticipating since I’ve only been here for a month. I’ll have to get back to you guys on that, but up until now it’s been pretty stellar! Feel free to leave comments on this post and on any future posts. I’d love to hear what you guys think about Ryerson, and I can’t wait to share more about my experiences and everything else going on at this terrific university for the remainder of the year.
