GCM Awards Night!

The one thing that I love about Ryerson is the fact that our school gives back to it’s students in so many different ways. In my program specifically, annually every fall we hold an awards night. This night is when students are awarded for all their hard work throughout their years in the program! Students get this special recognition through various scholarships and awards. My program is very heavily supported by the industry, so this year GCM was honoured to give out over $90,000 in awards to their students! Luckily this year, I got to attend the awards night because I was chosen to be a Canadian Printing Industry scholar. This was a huge honour for me and I had a blast that night!

The night was structured as follows:

5:30-6:30: A time for mingling and networking with the many industry professionals that attended awards nights. There were appetizers and snacks and this time was great to make network connections! Connections in my program (as well as many other programs at Ryerson) are crucial, so this was a great opportunity!

6:30-7:30: This time was dedicated to the awards ceremony! Recognition was awarded to students for academics, projects, school spirit and everything in between! It felt awesome to see how much support our students have here at Ryerson!

Overall the night was awesome for us GCM students, but have no fear, because there are many other awards out there for any Ryerson students! Check out any entrance scholarships you might be applicable for!
