Good afternoon Ryerson Rams or Future Rams!
The sun has started to shine here at Ryerson (finally!) and the campus is buzzing with activity! Every Wednesday the campus comes alive from 11 – 3 with the weekly Ryerson Farmers Market! Every week I am going to be featuring one of the vendors from our Farmers market on why.ryerson to let you know some of the amazing (and yummy) vendors that come on our campus!
This week I will be featuring “My Little Dumplings”.
My Little Dumplings is a globally inspired company that is handmade locally in Toronto! Chef Basir Munye is inspired by global cuisine ideas and he incorporates locally and organic grown food ideas in his menu. Chef Basir has traveled and lived across the world so to him “food is an interpretation of places [he’s] been or [he] longs to see.”
I asked Chef Basir the following two questions:
1. If someone had to try one item from your stand, what would you suggest?
Chef Basir suggested the Bau Dumpling. It’s a traditional Chinese bun, with a Jamaican twist! This dish embodies the cross-culture and diverse environment that is in downtown Toronto and Ryerson’s campus!
2. What do you love about the Ryerson Farmers Market?
Chef Basir loves coming to Ryerson because he loves the changing food culture that is present on campus!
For more information on My Little Dumplings, check out their website here or visit them next week at the farmers market!
