My Experience at the CIS Men’s Basketball Championship Game

If you’ve been reading my blogs, you know that I love Ryerson, and I especially love it when Rye gets the attention it deserves.  So of course I was thrilled when I found out that the CIS Men’s Basketball Championship game would be hosted at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, attract audience members from all over Canada, and be broadcasted on TV.  I was able to attend one of the games, and the following are some photos and video clips from my experience!

First, let’s just take a second to appreciate the fact that a jersey was taped onto our founder, Eggerton Ryerson’s statue.  The school spirit was so real on campus throughout CIS weekend.

The game started with a team intro, team huddle, and words from President Sheldon Levy.

The team huddling up before the game.

And with the help of Ryerson’s court-side cheer squad, our Dance Pak dance team, and fun (and of course the crazy talent of our ball team)…

The Rams were ever present at the game, cheering for our team with their voices, as well as their costumes and…body art ha.

Two contestants, tricycles, potato sacks, and lay-ups really do make for an interesting half-time game.

The Ryerson Dance Pak performed different routines throughout the game to entertain the game.

…the Ryerson Rams won the game!!!

The two teams shake hands.

And although we didn’t win first place, the Rams had an AMAZING season, played their hearts out, and even scored their highest ranking, beating out five other teams, and taking home bronze.  GO RAMS GO!!!!!
