My name is Jenna and I am a new student ambassador for WhyRyerson for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. I’m a Content Creator, if we would like to get specific, and my primary role here is to write blog posts for the site about all things Ryerson and Toronto.
I’m in my first year of Creative Industries here at Ryerson, and I’m focusing on journalism and the music industry throughout my degree. I was born in Ottawa and moved to Toronto for school, where I am now living in residence in Pitman Hall.
Toronto is my favourite city and I am so excited to experience the city and all it has to offer 24/7. The Creative Industries program is unique among Canadian universities, which inspired me to choose Ryerson as my school of choice. So you guys can learn more about me, here are three things I love to do in my spare time!
1. Read (for fun!)
Ever since I was young, I have loved reading. My genre of choice is young-adult romance but I enjoy most fiction books. The best book I read this summer was called Daisy Jones & The Six, a novel about the rise and eventual downfall of a fictional rock band in the peak of rock’n’roll in the late ’70s. Also, in my opinion the book is almost always better than the movie!
2. Watch Netflix
As a child born in the age of technology, Netflix is my go-to source of entertainment. It’s a great way to destress and bond with friends and family. Currently, my favourite TV show is Bondi Rescue, an Australian reality show following lifeguards working on Bondi beach, which is a bustling beach that attracts thousands of tourists.
3. Go to concerts
Music is a big part of my life. I almost always listening to music! I have been to countless concerts since I was 10 years old when I saw Justin Bieber in the prime of the “Baby” era. It’s hard for me to pick the best concert I’ve ever attended, but Ed Sheeran, the Arkells and Scott Helman are up there. Toronto is a great city for live music and I’m excited to see what shows I can see in the future.
That’s it about me for now! I’m looking forward to posting more for the upcoming months.
See you soon!
