One of the many reasons to choose Ryerson is our downtown location. We aren’t joking when we say that Ryerson is located at the heart of Toronto! Being so close to the industry gives students opportunities to attend some pretty high class events. These are things which are happening at locations which literally border the Ryerson Campus. WhyRyerson is now committed to bringing you right to these events to check out what they have to offer.
To start this off, we recently had the honour to attend the Buffer Festival Red Carpet and Gala Screening last Friday (the 23rd of October). Check out some of the pics we snapped!
“Buffer Festival is an annual theatrical showcase that celebrates international video content from the most acclaimed creators on YouTube. Held in Toronto’s Entertainment District, the festival showcases premieres of high-quality YouTube content in a variety of theatrical screenings, a red carpet gala event, an industry day, and (new for this year) Creator Day.”

We were inches away from some of the largest names on YouTube during the Red Carpet just outside of Roy Thompson Hall. Ahh!
What was most exciting for us was seeing some very familiar faces walk the carpet. Check out these two Ryerson students LaurDIY (GCM Alumni) and Stephanie Macas (2nd Year Media Production) as they strut their stuff!
And finally, the beautiful venue!
I also Snapchatted the whole event. Do you have us on Snapchat? Add us! @whyryerson.

We had so much fun at Buffer Festival! I’m looking forward to brining all of you to future events happening just beyond the Ryerson Borders. Let us know via our social media (@WhyRyerson) where you’d like to go next!
Big shout out to GCM student Antek Krystecki for being our honorary photographer. Thanks Antek!
