Ryerson MBA Students sweep Canadian university business competition
“Ryerson University MBA teams took home the top three spots in the annual Rotman Corporate Social Responsibility Case Competition last weekend.
MBA teams from Ryerson, University of Toronto, York University, Concordia University, University of Alberta and Laurier University were given six days to prepare a marketing plan to help transform GM Chevrolet’s image to a more eco-friendly car manufacturer. Image arts grad tells Emmy award-winning stories about NYC
“Basketball players, subway musicians, even show dogs have had their stories told on the web by Sharyn Joffe, image arts ’06. But the story behind the award-winning video producer and editor has its own compelling moments.
[Sharyn] Joffe produces short online videos for Madison Square Garden (MSG), the iconic New York City entertainment venue where she has worked since 2008. Her videos feature New York-area sports teams playing the arena — game recaps, player interviews, fan events and promos. Among them is The Bracket, a web program where fans vote on their favourite aspects of New York sports. Last year, it earned Joffe an Emmy Award for Interactivity — her third Emmy after just six years in the field.”
New partnership forged with India, South Africa incubators
“On the first anniversary of Zone Startups India (ZSI) − Ryerson’s partnership with the Bombay Stock Exchange Institute − Ryerson University President Sheldon Levy announced an unprecedented trilateral partnership in Mumbai.
Ryerson University, the Bombay Stock Exchange Institute and South Africa’s University of the Witwatersrand are creating a new partnership which will accelerate startup incubation and growth opportunities for entrepreneurs in the partner countries.”
