Free Things To Do in Toronto January 2017

Toronto is absolutely full of free things to do, but it’s all about knowing when and where it’s going to happen! Here’s my list of five free events, festivals and fun times you need to check out downtown this January.

Toronto Design Offsight Festival

The Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) is Canada’s largest cultural celebration of design, with over 100 exhibitions and events. TO DO will be taking over all ends of Toronto from January 16-22. If you’re interested in design, they’ve got you covered for everything from experience design, textiles and landscaping. Plus check out Ryerson’s shoutout for urban design!

Cloud Gardens Conservatory

Trying to escape the cold? Check out this tropical cloud forest burrowed in between the skyscrapers of the downtown core. The conservatory also includes a small greenhouse filled with exotic plants and trees guaranteed to cure your winter blues.

Wild Winter Wonderland Weekend

On the weekend of January 21st, head over to Evergreen’s Winter Village for the first Wild Winter Wonderland Weekend. Check out their farmers market as well as their street food market for locally-inspired dishes, and don’t forget about the wild blueberry chef’s demo and tasting!

Toronto Light Fest

Loved the Distillery District’s Christmas Market? Then get ready because on January 27th the area will be transformed into a festival of lights. Stretched across 13 acres and 44 buildings this is an event you won’t be able to miss- and won’t want to!
