Homework got you down lately? Exam season feeling rough? Looking for some fun de-stressors to take your mind off things? Ryerson is full of fun activities to keep you preoccupied from school work for a while, check out some of my favourite ways to de-stress on campus here!


Therapy Dogs

RU Therapy Dogs in partnership with the St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog Program is a mental health initiative that takes place weekly on campus! Drop by the Sandbox every Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. to spend some time with your favourite furry friends. Also, check out their Facebook page for event updates!

Ping Pong on Campus

Both the Ryerson Student Centre and the Ryerson Athletic Centre (RAC) offer a stress release spot with free-access tennis tables on their ground floors. Paddle your stress away hitting some ping pong balls with friends!

Wellness Events

Wellness events run by your program, faculty or the university itself are a great way to de-stress with friends and fellow students. Events are almost always free and usually involve food – my favourite combination!

Latte and Oakham Cafe

Who can resist treating yourself to a campus favourite? Oakham cafe’s lattes and hot drinks (especially their London Fog) mixed with their smooth jazz playlists and comfy couches gives us all the relaxation we need.

Karaoke Night at the Ram

If you’re looking for some high-energy de-stressing and want to try something new why not head over the Ram pub for their weekly karaoke night? Sing your sorrows away with friends and make some new ones at these super fun community nights!
