One of the best parts of going to school downtown is the unlimited food around you at all times. However, eating out constantly can get expensive. Next time you’re grabbing a meal between classes, check out these spots for the best bang for you buck. Here are six cheap eats around Ryerson campus:
Location: 101 Dundas St E
Tacos 101 is a great spot if you’re not looking to break the bank in between lectures. With five different flavours all under $5 who could say no?

Located ON campus, this is one of my favourite places to grab some food. My personal favourite is their BYOB station (build your own bowl, of course!). However they do offer a friendly fiver meal everyday for only $5 that is also delicious.

Location: 4 Elm St at Yonge
Tucked away on Elm St. this Jamaican patty takeaway spot is a top spot in Toronto if you’re looking for that authentic flavour. Considering a single patty sells for only $1.89 we know this one will be well within your budget!
Location: 63 Gould St.
Our local on campus pub also has it’s fair share of cheap eats! With their menu featuring vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten free options they’ve designed their food options with every student on a tight budget in mind.
Location: 80 Dundas St E
Sushi style is a great cheap eats option for anyone else craving Japanese food on the go. With their packed bento boxes going for only $6 this is a spot you won’t want to miss!
Location: 200 Victoria Street
Cheap eat and it serves all day breakfast? No i’m not kidding you. Frans is a student favourite with multiple locations downtown to staisfy your milkshake cravings in all corners of downtown.
El Furniture Warehouse
Location: 336 Yonge St
We’re not sure when their construction will be finished, but we can’t wait! This staple restaurant in Toronto has been known for their outrageously cheap menu, and will be sure to have students lining up out the door once they open. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.
