So far October is looking out to be a pretty great month filled with beautiful weather and a ton of free events. Here are five free events that are happing on or around Ryerson campus for you to take advantage of!
Cineplex Free Movie Day
On October 14 Cineplex, in partnership with WE Day will be hosting a free day of movie. Seeing as how Cineplex is on Ryerson campus, there’s no excuse for you not to go! See what movies will be playing here.
Ryerson Image Arts Exhibition
Featuring photographs of Canadian subject matter from The New York Times Photo Archive, The Faraway Nearby, examines a century of Canada’s history and its representation in the leading American newspaper of record. Tours for this free gallery run every day at 2:30 p.m..
World Poutine Eating Championship
This free event will be hosted at Yonge and Dundas square on October 14 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.. Spend your afternoon with fellow Torontonians watching other courageous Canadians eat as much of this staple meal from the great white north as they can. Don’t worry – if all this talk about poutine is making you hungry there will be free food and admission for everyone!
Ryerson Alumni Weekend
Join 1000+ fellow Ryersonians at the biggest and best alumni event of the year on October 14. Reconnect with friends, meet alumni students and show off your Ryerson home! Oh, and also make sure to grab some free food on Gould St. before heading to the Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC) to cheer on your Ryerson Rams sports teams!
October 29 will be the final pedestrian friendly, no vehicles allowed, event hosted in Kensington Market for the year. Full of pop-up performances, unique vendors and a Torontonian street party this is an event you won’t want to miss!
